How I write

What's going on with this Untitled science fiction story? First, a description in brief:
A scavenger discovers a valuable but very dangerous artifact, and must sell it before it is too late.

Currently I'm on a three day updating schedule : Update, break, draft, Update, break, draft, Update, etc etc.

I am constantly thinking up new scenarios and plot points for the story, even when I'm on "break". I write these down in a fucking convoluted notepad document.

Breaking involves doing nothing. Yep. Nothing.
Drafting involves writing down a brief "summary" of what happens in each scene for the part. The summaries include the location, viewpoint, the mood (exposition, tension, or action), and what happens. In dialogue-heavy scenes I'll put down rough guidelines for the dialogue as well.
Updating involves writing the entire deal (usually this always occurs from 12:00-2:00 am), editing the entire deal (usually poorly) and throwing it up here.

Exposition means none of the characters are in danger, physical or otherwise, and the plot is advanced through expository dialogue or description.
Tension means there is a threat of physical danger or there is a verbal confrontation between two characters.
Action means there's action! Fist fights, gun fights, giant space ship fights. The character's lives are directly threatened.

The various flags in Untitled I make myself. I spent most of April in chemistry class reading up on vexillology (the study of flags). I do my best to make every colour, shape, and symbol in the flags I make to represent something. For instance, the Deep Space Confederacy flag:

The planet Earth in the left shows the reverence the DSC hold for humanity's birthplace, and their determination in their search to find it.
The five stars on the right are the five planets that originally banded together to form the DSC.
The fact that the two trapezoids are of equal sizes symbolize that the DSC holds itself as equal to Earth.
The white stripe in the middle represents the peace that the DSC brings.
The white and blue stripes represent the waters and grounds of the DSC worlds.

Or, the Kaisari flag:

The DSC flag in canton (in the upper left corner) shows that the planet Kaisari is a member planet of the DSC. All DSC worlds are required to fly the DSC flag in canton.
The crown of the Kaisair emperor is held up by a sword, symbolizing Imperator Kaisar's conquest of the planet.
Wound around the sword are two olive branches of peace - the world wide war has brought peace to the planet by removing the bloody factionalism
Finally, upholding the entire device is the SPQK.
The flag's green background is the land of Kaisari, that the emperor is sworn to protect.

Wow, I am a huge nerd!

I feel at this point my creative abilities cannot come up with a title suitable for the work so it'll probably remain Untitled until it's finished.

Untitled is in a perfect state of drafts. Everything I post on the blog is a draft and will remain a draft until Episode 15 airs and the season ends. Yep, 15 episodes, 1 season, which means we're nearly a third of the way through at this point. It's way too early for me to even consider a second season.

The way it works is that I'm constantly editing and reediting everything I post. Of course, before putting up a part of an episode, I read it and make sure it's free of grammar and spelling mistakes (although a bunch of those still get through). However, I also often read over old episodes and change facts, dialogue, or character descriptions to better fit Untitled as a whole. Of course, this wouldn't fly in a real TV series, but essentially all shows on TV at this moment are already entirely written, most even already entirely filmed. Since Untitled is still taking shape, I've got the artistic liberty to go back and change Cass' age from her mid-20's to her late teens (which I will do) or to give Garrett a few extra lines of dialogue in a few places, or add bits of exposition and description in others.

As it stands now, every three episodes aired will be combined into one .pdf file for your reading pleasure.

"Eyecatches" are the images that appear immediately before a TV show goes to commercial and immediately after it returns from it. It's mostly used by animés, but here in the west eyecatches usually advertise the network airing the show (like the YTV logo bouncing around before a cartoon comes back on).

No, I`ve never written erotica.

No, Untitled will not have any erotic scences.

(probably)

Plenty of innuendo though.

I don`t know how many of you care about this literary nonsense but I thought it`d be interesting to share.
